OUR LEGACY
Kenefick – O’Connor – O’Neill – family names and a proud legacy that will carry over into the newly designed space of Emmett’s Public House. Wrapped around a sailor’s knot, we tip our hat and raise our glass to Emmett Vincent Kenefick who had a vision decades ago to purchase the land originally occupied by a Piggly Wiggly grocery store to house restaurants – to gather and dine, and to support the ongoing vibrancy of Historic Grand Avenue in St. Paul.
Born from the iconic Dixie's on Grand, which thrived for 35 years, Emmett's Public House emerged in 2015. The former Dixie's Key Largo Banquet Room was reimagined as a gastropub, blending authenticity with modern charm. Vintage elements, like the restored snug from St. Paul's original Gallivan's Irish Pub, cozy fireplace, and authentic Irish hospitality, create a warm atmosphere.
Today, with the luxury Kenton House apartments above and Saji-Ya, our sister restaurant, reopened next door, Emmett's doors are open once more. Raise a glass and join us for elevated gastro pub cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and an unparalleled selection of Irish whiskeys, including rare and premium choices. Sláinte!
